GALLERYSKE opens a new space in New Delhi which will be the gallery's second space in the country and will run concurrently with the space in Bangalore.

The gallery was established in 2003 by Sunitha Kumar Emmart. Since its inception, the gallery has been committed to a critically engaged contemporary programme composed of established and emerging artists. The gallery has always strived to present a diverse spectrum of practices.

Beginning in a commercial building in 2003 at the heart of Bangalore, the gallery shifted in 2010 to a 100 year old intimate colonial bungalow with a large outdoor space.

The new space in Connaught Place is an expansive single exhibition area, located in a building from the 1940ís. The architect for the space is Annalisa Bellettati. (who has done projects in Rome, Bombay, Goa and Delhi).

When the gallery began in 2003, it represented two artists. The programme has now grown to represent 13 artists, namely.

Krishnaraj Chonat
Sheela Gowda
Sakshi Gupta
Abhishek Hazra
Bharti Kher
Prabhavathi Meppayil
Srinivasa Prasad
Sreshta Rit Premnath
Sudarshan Shetty
Mariam Suhail
Anup Mathew Thomas
Navin Thomas
Avinash Veeraraghavan

These artists work across media of sculpture and installation, video, photography, textile, sound, painting and drawing.

The artists in the programme have been recognised both nationally and internationally and have worked to push the formal and thematic aspects of their practices to newer and deeper levels of understanding and engagement.

Annually the gallery will present 7 shows each in its New Delhi and Bangalore space, the gallery also runs a project space and residency space in Bangalore along with the artist Tara Kelton called T.A.J Residency and SKE Projects (which is 5 studios in the centre of Bangalore) The gallery also participates in art fairs like Art Basel, Art Basel, Miami Beach, Art Basel, Hong Kong, India Art fair and Art Dubai.

For its inaugural show in New Delhi and to mark its 10th year anniversary, for the first time, the gallery will open with an exhibition that showcases the work of all the 13 artists represented by the gallery. The show will be on view until January 4th 2014.
